Machine for living

The “machine for living” is a concept re-born with the Dynamic Tower project.  It departs completely from the traditional approach to thinking and realizing buildings.

The building is not a mere construction, but an actual machine produced to be used for living.

The technological nature of these apartments is strictly related to the most advanced industrial production, with the same methods, technologies, ideas and devices that partners such as Stola, Ferrari and Bosch use in designing and producing hi-tech machinery.

The production of machines for living goes beyond the concept of standardization, because it provides completely customizable homes, in much the same way as a car can be not only accessorized, but also made suitable for every wish of the owner.

The entire building, aside from the concrete core, is made of prefabricated units that arrive to the construction site completely finished, including flooring, water piping, air conditioning and all finishes.  These units, made of steel, aluminium, carbon fibre and other high quality modern materials, are installed mechanically on-site, attached to the core and to each other.  They offer luxury finishing, very fast construction time and the use of a limited number of workers, reducing site risks and costs.

The production approach is similar to the one applied to mechanical objects, but it is different not only for the particular design but also, and above all, for the destinations of use.  These include houses and much more – such as hotels, offices, retail areas...

The revolutionary union between design and destination of the machines for living will benefit, in the future, traditional houses as well:  the unique advantages of industrial production, never before integrated in traditional building, will apply.

The production of machines for living will be based on advanced high tech that is all around us, already in use in many other sectors. The buildings of the future, indeed will be produced with industrial process, will reach of cutting edge technology and smart domotics.

Some of the options include recognizing the people entering the house, through a sensor installed in the elevator:  That way, the system will be able to prepare the house for their arrival, choosing the lighting, the smell, and turning on the appliances.  Software allows to customize the whole environment, as well as defining solutions for each room, setting vocal recognition systems and rotating the apartment, or transforming a glass window into a TV monitor.

The technological and innovative approach to production reaches its best expression concerning the environment:  Each dynamic apartment will have systems aimed at minimizing energetic loss, such as special insulating materials, low-consumption lighting, and energy recovery systems, in addition to optimized energy self-production devices, such as solar panels and wind generators.  These devices will be installed outdoors and, with resized dimensions, into each module.

With the machine for living, the apartment becomes a hi-tech product, continuously chosen by the users, where living is a dynamic and always new experience.
