"Hospitality Awards": The primary Italian recognition to the operators of the tourist world.
During the Investment Globe 2008 event three awards were assigned to personalities who achieved success in the following fields:
Innovation
Handed to personalities who showed the ability to innovate and to overcome the obstacles imposed by the market with strong skills in operating with societies of services and planners.
Investment
Award for the best deals of the year handed to personalities who played decisive roles in the management of the negotiations.
Operations & Management
Given to hotel operators who were able to valorize business investments through a strategy of far-sighted development and aware management.
The awards were assigned following the work of the Advisory Board, composed by a group of prominent personalities within the world of the tourism, media and academics:
Anthony Nitto: President of R&D hospitality
Guido Groppi: General Manager of TTG Italia
Gianni Martino: Group Coordinator of HTMS International
Magda Antonioli: Master Manager at MET University Bits
Carla Icardi: Editor of rewarded publication Hoteltoday
The winners:
· Architect David Fisher received the "Innovation Award" for The Rotating Tower project, the first dynamic skyscraper, completely "green", is entirely self-sufficient from the energetic standpoint and 90% prefabricated. It will include a luxury hotel, offices and apartments. Each of its floors can rotate separately, resulting in an ever-changing shape of the building.
· Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels received the "Investment Award" for the hotel transactions and for the professional services devoted to the Italian hotel sector, contributing to making sales processes transparent and efficient.
· NH Hotels received the "Operations and Management Award" for bringing together tourism and finance, through an imposing operation, the Great Joker, which changes the landscape of Italian hospitality – for the ambitious objectives and the determination to pursue them, through the concentration on the managerial abilities and on the strength of innovation as leading principles and philosophy of management.
